The only known photograph of Ellen G. White inside her home, “Elmshaven,” in St. Helena, California, was recently made public when published in a book entitled Angwin and Howell Mountain, by Katharine Van Arsdale, special collections librarian at the Pacific Union College (PUC) Nelson Library in California. The photo, which shows Ellen White seated at her writing desk in her writing room at Elmshaven, is part of the Taylor Family Collection donated to the PUC Library’s Special Collections. Included in the collection was another previously unknown photo of some of Ellen White’s workers gathered on the lawn at Elmshaven. Pictured are: Sara McEnterfer, Helen Graham, Sarah Peck, Paul and Ethel Mason, and Minnie Hawkins Crisler. ECN is happy to publish this photo for the first time. Can you find the cat?
